Almighty God, we praise you for the fact that you are not bound by the past, present or future—you just are. Your name, Jehovah, is “I AM.” Father, you know how much your immortal children struggle living in time. We yearn for the freedom of living in just you. Lord, remind us of the value in the wait, or the protection in being told no. You give us the privilege of showing your glory during the trying times which makes it so much more remarkable than when we rejoice in the “yes”. People in the dark need to know this, and they have us, eye witnesses, to your mighty works right here in the now! Standing in the Light no matter the circumstance, we remain in thankful to be in your service. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father of all Provision, forgive me for getting caught up in the I want’s, I gotta have its. Every day I have more than I need to live my life and live a life in service to you. I have more than I need to rest secure that it will continue this way. Even if all should be taken away tomorrow I still have You—the God of Gifts, the God of Care, the God of Love! May your Holy Spirit continue to keep my eyes wide open to your immediate working in my daily life walk of faith. Let me never forget how much I need you and how much I love needing you! Dear Father in Heaven, we kneel before you in grief over the way we have softened our consciences on sin. Forgive us for the way we weigh each one from not-so-bad to the very bad. They are all worthy of the sentence of death. We fall on the grace you have given us through the life, death and resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ. By His wounds we are healed. By His resurrection we have eternal life. Increase the shock to our consciousness over all sin for Your name's sake, for our life's sake and for the sake of those influenced by our actions. Dear Father in Heaven, this week we lift up every mother in prayer you. For every woman expecting for the first time—grant her and her baby healthy growth, a safe delivery, and courage to face her new role as a mother; for every mother raising her children in Your name—grant  her your wisdom to make the right choices for her children to follow the path You paved just for them; for every mother who witnesses her adult children veer from your path—grant them a double measure of your assurance that you still hold their lives in your capable hands and to never believe their prodigal’s return is beyond hope; for every mother struggling on her own—grant her the humility to ask for help in places where you are found and move your people to do whatever they can to help her and her children along, and finally, Creator of all Life, we ask for every woman caught in the web of lies that she need not carry her baby to term we ask that you will intervene on the baby’s behalf and give the future mother a heart of overwhelming compassion and love for the life she is blessed to bring into this world that your Son bled, died and overcame from the devil and our own sinful desires. Heavenly Father, thank you for your continued grace, love, mercy, and kindness. We are humbled and stand in awe of all that you bless us with day after day, month after month, and year after year. As we walk along this daily journey of life, help us to reflect your light. And, just as you have given to us, help us to openly extend grace, love, mercy and kindness to others. Every day, we interact with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even strangers. Regardless of whom we come into contact with, please help us to make lasting impressions on them… that reflect you. For those that do not know you in their hearts, let them truly see your love and light in us. We ask that you allow our interactions with others to encourage, comfort, assist, enlighten, and bring sincerity and joy. Whether our communication with others is in person, on the phone, or digital… or whether it is for hours, or for a few short minutes, help us to keep our minds focused on the things above as we interact. Your word says “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2 NIV) Let us always greet one another with the love of our Father. Lord, thank you for this journey called life. Thank you for the ups, and yes, even the downs because your Word teaches us that all things work together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Thank you Lord for giving each of us as believers saving faith. Thank you that even though we can't always see how things are going to work together for our good, we, by faith, know they will. When we face trials, tribulations, hardships beyond belief and surprising twists and turns in life, thank you Lord for being right there. Thank you that your Word says if we seek you with all of our heart, we will find you! Whether there is smooth sailing and all is well... or whether times are tough, we simply need to rely on you.  “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV) Thank you for victory, in advance! “Thank you Lord for being my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2 NIV) In Jesus name I pray. Father God, thank you for instructions on how to walk through this journey called life. Thank you for your Holy Word that teaches us everything we need to know to handle all that life brings. We even thank you for permission to think about pleasant things when troubles weigh heavily on our mind. Philippians 4:8 teaches “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (KJV) Thank you for being a God of love, and thank you that as Believers in Christ, simply thinking of you Lord, and leaning on your Word brings comfort and joy to our hearts and minds. Thank you Lord for the peace that only you can give. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

 Heavenly Father, Creator of all, you set the world in motion and created a time for all things. There is a time for work, a time for play and a time for rest. With the writer of Ecclesiastes, I find my days are full of sorrow and my work is a vexation; even at night my heart does not rest. I want to rejoice in my work and to share that joy with others. I want to remember there is a time to work, a time to play, and a time for rest and sleep. Give me the wisdom and discipline to do all things at their proper time. Guard my focus during work so I can accomplish what needs to be done that day. Give me peaceful sleep so I am refreshed. In name of Jesus, who knew when to work and when to rest, I pray. Amen

Father of all Provision, this week of thankfulness will end in the temptation to spend beyond my limits. Forgive me for falling into in the I-want/gotta-have-it blues that will sneak up on me. Every day I have more than I need to live a life of thanksgiving for my redemption through the blood of your one and only Son. I have more than I need to rest secure that it will continue this way even if every bit of my “stuffing” should be taken way. Holy Spirit, continue to keep my eyes wide open to your immediate provision in my daily faith walk. Let me never forget how much I depend on you and how much I love needing you! Lord, I want to thank you for your love. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you for being sovereign with all knowledge about our lives. And, thank you for the roadmap you have given to us in the form of the Holy Scriptures. When we are faced with decisions in life, please show us the way. Please let us slow down and be still enough to hear from your Holy Spirit. Just as Philippians 4:9 teaches, Whatever we have learned or received or heard from you Lord, or seen in you, help us to put it into practice, so that as the God of peace, you will be with us. Whether the decisions we face in life are big, or small, help us to make the right choice based on your Word. And, as Philippians 4:7 says, grant us “the peace of God that passeth all understanding” to guard our hearts and minds in you Jesus. (KJV) Through everything, help us to be pleasing unto you, always. Heavenly Father, thank you for today. Thank you for the many yesterdays we have seen. And thank you for the tomorrows you have appointed for us.  As we age with each new day, help us to stand firm in the knowledge that you have protected us each day before and you will continue to protect us in days to come.  Thank you for the purpose and plans you still have for us, even as our physical bodies begin to show the signs of youth disappearing. Heavenly Father, thank you for the blessing of children in our lives.  Whether the children are born unto us, foster children, adopted children, nieces nephews, neighbors or students - your Word says that children are a heritage from the Lord.  We ask Lord that you bless, guide and protect the children in our lives as they begin another school year. Let them flourish in school and most importantly in their knowledge and love of you.  We ask that you also bless the teachers so that they may be truly caring, exhibit patience and offer heartfelt encouragement to every student they teach. Heavenly Father, thank you for work! Thank you for creating each of us for a special purpose in Your sovereign plan. Ephesians 2:10 tells us "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (NIV) Help us Lord to be mindful that no matter what we are skilled at doing, no matter our job title or position, and no matter our paycheck amount - whatever we do daily, we should do it heartily, for You Lord, and not unto men. In Jesus' name we humbly pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for being sovereign. Even in the aftermath of the historic hurricane Florence, we know that you are still in control. You know all that we face, before we face the dawning of each new day. Your Word says "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV) Help us Lord to be encouraging and reflect your love and light to those impacted by the hurricane. And for those of us not impacted directly by that particular storm, help us through the other storms of life that come our way. James 1:2-3 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (NIV) Lord, thank you for your love, protection, mercy, grace, and guidance in times of chaos, and in times of calm. Thank you that all we go through is a part of your sovereign plan. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, this time of year as we celebrate Jesus' birth, as Christians, help us to celebrate differently than the world does. Help us to remember that Christmas is absolutely not about the gifts... it is about the gifter of life. Help us to remember that Christmas is not a magical time of year... it is a time of year to celebrate the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Help us to remember that Christmas is not about Santa... it is about the birth of a Savior. Before we open any gifts on Christmas morning, help us to take time to appreciate the ultimate gifts of hope, love and salvation. "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." (1 John 5:11 NIV) Help us to spread that message as Christmas cheer. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as we look towards the start of a brand new year, we want to first begin by saying “thank you.” Thank you for the many ups, and Lord, even the downs because we know that ALL things last year worked according to your plan.Lord, we ask that you bless our new year according to your will for each of us. Help us to grow in, and exhibit to others, the fruits of the spirit even more than in years past."But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV) In this new year, help others to see your light shining brightly in us. Help us to be a blessing to many. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.

Dear Lord over all people, in the Gospels we are told the accounts of your son being baptized through his (the WORD made flesh) prayer to you in the water of a river, and how you made him the Righteousness of Life through this divine act of grace for the salvation all of sinful humanity. Lord, we are continually tempted to forget we are dead to sin because of the new life created in us at our own baptism. Forgive us when we become so blind. May your Holy Spirit, whom you sent to live in us, keep us alert by strengthening our faith, and to believe unwaveringly the new life in Christ at work in us this minute. Help us bring this news of freedom from sin by the washing of rebirth to everyone around us by following in our Redeemer’s footsteps from the river to the empty tomb. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for forgiveness. Thank you for second chances. And thank you for the ability to be refreshed. Your word says, "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV) We thank you Lord that you are with us daily and have given us a clean slate every morning. Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and kindness, and for renewal. Thank you for your Word that teaches and models how to walk as a disciple. And thank you that we can ask for fresh starts when we need our spiritual edge sharpened. Psalm 51:10 says "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (NIV) Thank you Lord also for restoration. Psalm 51:12 says "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (NIV) Help us Father to desire daily to be pleasing unto you, to be like you, and to model who you are to others. Help us to joyfully and diligently seek your face so that we are refreshed daily. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
