Almighty God, we praise you for the fact that you are not bound by the past, present or future—you just are. Your name, Jehovah, is “I AM.” Father, you know how much your immortal children struggle living in time. We yearn for the freedom of living in just you. Lord, remind us of the value in the wait, or the protection in being told no. You give us the privilege of showing your glory during the trying times which makes it so much more remarkable than when we rejoice in the “yes”. People in the dark need to know this, and they have us, eye witnesses, to your mighty works right here in the now! Standing in the Light no matter the circumstance, we remain in thankful to be in your service. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father of all Provision, forgive me for getting caught up in the I want’s, I gotta have its. Every day I have more than I need to live my life and live a life in service to you. I have more than I need to rest secure that it will continue this way. Even if all should be taken away tomorrow I still have You—the God of Gifts, the God of Care, the God of Love! May your Holy Spirit continue to keep my eyes wide open to your immediate working in my daily life walk of faith. Let me never forget how much I need you and how much I love needing you! For every woman expecting for the first time—grant her and her baby healthy growth, a safe delivery, and courage to face her new role as a mother; for every mother raising her children in Your name—grant  her your wisdom to make the right choices for her children to follow the path You paved just for them; for every mother who witnesses her adult children veer from your path—grant them a double measure of your assurance that you still hold their lives in your capable hands and to never believe their prodigal’s return is beyond hope; for every mother struggling on her own—grant her the humility to ask for help in places where you are found and move your people to do whatever they can to help her and her children along, and finally, Creator of all Life, we ask for every woman caught in the web of lies that she need not carry her baby to term we ask that you will intervene on the baby’s behalf and give the future mother a heart of overwhelming compassion and love for the life she is blessed to bring into this world that your Son bled, died and overcame from the devil and our own sinful desires. Every day, we interact with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and even strangers. Regardless of whom we come into contact with, please help us to make lasting impressions on them… that reflect you. For those that do not know you in their hearts, let them truly see your love and light in us. We ask that you allow our interactions with others to encourage, comfort, assist, enlighten, and bring sincerity and joy. Whether our communication with others is in person, on the phone, or digital… or whether it is for hours, or for a few short minutes, help us to keep our minds focused on the things above as we interact. Your word says “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” (Hebrews 13:2 NIV) Let us always greet one another with the love of our Father. When we face trials, tribulations, hardships beyond belief and surprising twists and turns in life, thank you Lord for being right there. Thank you that your Word says if we seek you with all of our heart, we will find you! With the writer of Ecclesiastes, I find my days are full of sorrow and my work is a vexation; even at night my heart does not rest. I want to rejoice in my work and to share that joy with others. I want to remember there is a time to work, a time to play, and a time for rest and sleep. Give me the wisdom and discipline to do all things at their proper time. Heavenly Father, thank you for being sovereign. Even in the aftermath of the historic hurricane Florence, we know that you are still in control. You know all that we face, before we face the dawning of each new day. Your Word says "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV) Help us Lord to be encouraging and reflect your love and light to those impacted by the hurricane. And for those of us not impacted directly by that particular storm, help us through the other storms of life that come our way. James 1:2-3 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (NIV) Lord, thank you for your love, protection, mercy, grace, and guidance in times of chaos, and in times of calm. Thank you that all we go through is a part of your sovereign plan. Heavenly Father, this time of year as we celebrate Jesus' birth, as Christians, help us to celebrate differently than the world does. Help us to remember that Christmas is absolutely not about the gifts... it is about the gifter of life. Help us to remember that Christmas is not a magical time of year... it is a time of year to celebrate the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Help us to remember that Christmas is not about Santa... it is about the birth of a Savior. Dear Lord over all people, in the Gospels we are told the accounts of your son being baptized through his (the WORD made flesh) prayer to you in the water of a river, and how you made him the Righteousness of Life through this divine act of grace for the salvation all of sinful humanity. Lord, we are continually tempted to forget we are dead to sin because of the new life created in us at our own baptism. Forgive us when we become so blind. May your Holy Spirit, whom you sent to live in us, keep us alert by strengthening our faith, and to believe unwaveringly the new life in Christ at work in us this minute. Help us bring this news of freedom from sin by the washing of rebirth to everyone around us by following in our Redeemer’s footsteps from the river to the empty tomb. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and kindness, and for renewal. Thank you for your Word that teaches and models how to walk as a disciple. And thank you that we can ask for fresh starts when we need our spiritual edge sharpened. Psalm 51:10 says "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (NIV) Thank you Lord also for restoration. Psalm 51:12 says "Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (NIV) Help us Father to desire daily to be pleasing unto you, to be like you, and to model who you are to others. Help us to joyfully and diligently seek your face so that we are refreshed daily.
