101. Senior Prayer by April Cooper

Heavenly Father, thank you for today. Thank you for the many yesterdays we have seen. And thank you for the tomorrows you have appointed for us.  As we age with each new day, help us to stand firm in the knowledge that you have protected us each day before and you will continue to protect us in days to come.  Thank you for the purpose and plans you still have for us, even as our physical bodies begin to show the signs of youth disappearing. You knew us from our mother's womb and today, you know the number of hairs on our heads, even if gray. Lord, help us to be pleasing unto you all the days of our life. Help us to be thankful for what each new day brings. And, please "Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 90:12 NIV) In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

102. School Prayer By April Cooper

Heavenly Father, thank you for the blessing of children in our lives.  Whether the children are born unto us, foster children, adopted children, nieces nephews, neighbors or students - your Word says that children are a heritage from the Lord.  We ask Lord that you bless, guide and protect the children in our lives as they begin another school year. Let them flourish in school and most importantly in their knowledge and love of you.  We ask that you also bless the teachers so that they may be truly caring, exhibit patience and offer heartfelt encouragement to every student they teach. Thank you Lord for the special gifts, talents and strengths you have bestowed upon each child. Let your light so shine in them. In Jesus' name I pray.  Amen.

103. Prayer for Labor Day By April Cooper

Heavenly Father, thank you for work! Thank you for creating each of us for a special purpose in Your sovereign plan. Ephesians 2:10 tells us "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (NIV) Help us Lord to be mindful that no matter what we are skilled at doing, no matter our job title or position, and no matter our paycheck amount - whatever we do daily, we should do it heartily, for You Lord, and not unto men. In Jesus' name we humbly pray. Amen.

104. In the Storm by April Cooper

Heavenly Father, thank you for being sovereign. Even in the aftermath of the historic hurricane Florence, we know that you are still in control. You know all that we face, before we face the dawning of each new day. Your Word says "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV) Help us Lord to be encouraging and reflect your love and light to those impacted by the hurricane. And for those of us not impacted directly by that particular storm, help us through the other storms of life that come our way. James 1:2-3 says "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (NIV) Lord, thank you for your love, protection, mercy, grace, and guidance in times of chaos, and in times of calm. Thank you that all we go through is a part of your sovereign plan. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
